写真の間違いについて
「エベレスト女性初登頂の写真の間違いについて」
1975年、女性世界初のエベレスト登頂者として紹介されている田部井淳子の頂上写真ですが、海外メディアを含めネットニュース上等で、田部井淳子本人ではない写真が出回っております。その多くは、当時、サポートのために同時登頂した高所ガイド、アンツェリン・シェルパの姿を田部井淳子が撮影したものです（当然、男性です）。 私どものほうでも訂正の申し入れは致しましたが、もしもお気づきの際には、速やかに訂正し、正しいものに差し替えていただきますようお願い申し上げます。
To whom it may concern, Please note, we have found several online sites that have listed Junko Tabei’s obituary with an incorrect image of supposed Tabei standing on top of Mt. Everest (May 16, 1975) as the first female to summit the mountain. The mistaken photo is actually that of her Sirdar, male Sherpa Ang Tshering, who supported her team throughout the expedition, and was photographed by Tabei herself. Although we have requested that the image distributor of this photo make all necessary corrections, the wrong picture still remains on these online sites. Should any online host realize this mistake, please exchange the present photo with the correct image (below) as soon as possible.
